Project Overview
An earth-data platform, translated into space
UP42 is a geospatial developer platform and marketplace for earth observation data and analytics. It empowers organizations of all sizes to harness the power of geospatial data and analytics by making it easier to find, buy, and use products from existing providers. The company is a subsidiary of Airbus.
In 2023, we partnered with UP42 in collaboration with interior design firm toi toi toi creative studio to develop a brand experience, spatial design, and wayfinding system for its new office in Berlin Kreuzberg

A clearer view of what matters
Utilizing satellite imagery has benefited humanity in numerous ways. From enhancing crop health and better forest management to promptly reacting to emergencies, daily earth imaging has dramatically improved our life on earth. Yet, the most profound impact has always been emotional. Observing the stunning beauty of earth’s diverse landscapes reinforced our perspective to value the grandeur and vulnerability of our planet—our only home.
Modular pattern design
Variable privacy, one coherent pattern
For the glass applications across meeting rooms and phone booths, we developed a modular pattern system that adapts to different privacy needs. It creates variation from space to space, adds visual rhythm, and keeps the office from feeling repetitiv
Playful wayfinding system
Making the workplace easier to use
For this 600 m² workplace, we designed a wayfinding system with directional signage, meeting room signs, and clear utility labels. Blue and black acrylic ties into the interior concept by toi toi toi creative studio. Directional signs wrap corners for better visibility, while utility labels simplify the building’s dense network of switches.
Spatial storytelling in the workplace
Connecting people to brand through place
We built a spatial design system for UP42 that connects brand and people without defaulting to “space” clichés. Grounded in the textures of our planet, the workplace graphics translate UP42’s product into authentic, clear cues throughout the office.
